Every dollar we spent on food in August

A food diary for two adults (and no kids) who mostly throw whatever they want into the cart and don’t usually eat meat

This is where we are as of August 27th! I’ll come back and add entries as the month goes on!

Food spending is fascinating. I usually share our total and what the breakdown is between groceries and eating out, but I thought it might be fun to do a real deep dive into one month.

I will keep updating until the end of the month! Tell me, is this pretty similar or pretty different than your family’s habits?

  1. Hey Liz! I really enjoy listening to your podcast during a walk. I also enjoy you teaming up with Maggie on her podcast. I feel like I am eves dropping on friends or sitting with friends discussing finances.
I loved the book Die With Zero. I texted Maggie about it when she was on the Friends on Fire Podcast. I liked listening to you guys discuss it. It has greatly impacted my life.
I retired last year at 55 once my corporate job wasn’t fun anymore. I am so fortunate that I was able to!
I really resonate with a lot of what you say and do. I go for a walk in different neighborhoods, I eat my body weight in fruit and I am a “full time” vegetarian 😂. Cheese is my weakness but you may have me beat there! Also, I may need some tofu recipes.
Anyway, thanks again for the podcast and keeping me company on my walk.
Book recommendation: Goodbye, Things by Fumio Sasaki.
    Regards,
    Susan
